2023 was my first year living full-time in Lake Tahoe, and I absolutely LOVE it. I still travel quite often, for both work and play, but a home base in the mountains plus a van for adventuring is a dream come true. That said, here are some fun highlights from the year:

New van’s maiden voyage to Mt. Shasta (christened as Mercedes Hawkins Vance)

Skiing down some big mountains (Whistler, Shasta)

Family wedding (Will’s brother got married)

Progress at the Rubin Observatory, installing some refrigeration cabinets on the telescope

Two of my favorite artists in concert: Taylor Swift and Morat

Two weeks climbing in the Utah desert and living in the van with my favorite person

First night sleeping on a wall, and I led and hauled the entire Skull Queen route on Washington Column in Yosemite

Hosting Christmas at our house including some family ski days
